Fernslow (/fernslow / [Translation Unavailable]) is a subtropical Town located in the Weian Region of the Tetbur Commune.

The name Fernslow is derived from the Sylvin language, as Fernslow was founded by Baseaginn Estell, who was culturaly Sylvin.

Climate

Fernslow has a yearly average temperature of 15°C (59°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a cool 18°C (64°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool 12°C (53°F). Fernslow receives an average of 240 cm/y (94 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of snow during the pleasantly short winter months. Fernslow covers an area of nearly 5 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 1292 m (4238 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Fernslow was founded durring the late 15th century in summer of the year 1370, by Baseaginn Estell. The establishment of Fernslow was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Baseaginn Estell struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Fernslow as a prison colony.

Fernslow was built using the conventions of Sylvin durring the late 15th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Fernslow is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

Fernslow is buildings folow an organic layout of spacious split-log ties streets whihch gives the town a shape simmilar to a tree, if one views its streets from above. The town sits comfortably behind a palisade wall complete with a timber gatehouse and battlments. The timber-based walls have not been wellmaintained over the years, and while functional are in dire need of some loving care and perhapse light renovation.

Fernslow has a very calm atmosphere. People can be seen relaxing, scocilizing, and going about all manner of business other than the daily grind. Men, women, children, all can be seen enjoying life in a laid-back way in the many parks which line Fernslow ’s streets.

Fernslow 's chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by dynamic designs and complex architectural plan forms; intended to heighten feelings of motion and sensuality, and frequently based on the oval. It made extensive and extreme use of: Grandeur, Contrast, Curves and twists, Rich surface treatments, Gilded statuary, Bright colors, Vividly painted ceilings, Fragmented or deliberately incomplete elements, Large-scale frescoes, Dramatic central projections on an external facade, the use of plaster, stucco, or marble finishing, Illusory effects such as trompe l’oeil, and pear-shaped domes. While beloved by the nobility, the common folk tended to despise the style due to the massive consumption of resources required for even a small building constructed in this style.
